Men often think that normal females don't make sense, so thought disorder applies only to those who are frequently nonsensical.

Simply put, thought disorder is the inability to carry through a line of thinking in a way that makes sense to other people. Another way to look at it, if there's disordered speech, there's disordered thought.

Affected persons may show a strange urgency and pressure of speech (speaking incessantly and quickly). They may show derailment in thought process or a flight of ideas (switching topic mid-sentence or inappropriately). Is your girl's speech coherent?

Common traits of thought disorder:

replies to questions without an answer
changes subjects in mid sentence
has frequent spontaneous speech
